CRVTEC or ITR???
Best overall performance...
Im looking into building a new motor... I currently have a ITR motor and plan on building it from the ground up... But not sure what i want to do with it... But on the second hand, i also want to build a CRVTEC with the ITR head i have now for more torque... Im not completely sure what deals with the CRVTEC... But i would like to rev up to 9,000rpm...I was looking into building a Mugen spec ITR motor but not enough torque in that thing as i heard it would do in the CRVTEC... Please help me out guyz...

for reliabilty reasons and rev capability b18c can't be beat....b20vtec as good as it is, it is much overrated IMHO, there is some ITR which put out more then 200-210whp, with just some Toda/JUN cams, CTR pistons, and few other small bolt on parts....yes they might not have so much of low end torque but rod ratio is more favourable and it simply will last longer...
here is what i would do:
.25 CTR pistons
Type III, Spec C cams and complete valve train
ITBs (individual throttle body)
stand alone ecu (there is few good ones)
JDM Toda, Spoon, Mugen header, or even JDM 98+ ITR, or a JDM 2.5" DC sports..
head with complete port polish and 5 angle valve job....
with this setup 220-230whp is possible on 94+octane gas....with rev rimit of 9.0k rpm.....
actually here on ITR forum we have some of the ITR guys such as LIP, and few others with these setups...putting more then good power...do dyno search and learn

Actually, a bone stock B20z has the same amount of torque as a stock B18c5. Add a vtec head and you're sure to see a few more. You could do all the same things to the CRVTEC motor as you said with the ITR and you'll still come out on top with the CRVTEC. I think it would fun to build one...to test it out. But if you're short on funds...stay with the ITR.
