Default Code 41! Ho2s 95 B18c1 in 92 VX

I have an issue with the wiring system of my o2 sensor. I have a 7 wire plug on the harness, and a 5 wire o2 sensor. I know the GSR has 4 and am in pursuit of getting ahold of one. My question is what exactly do I need to do once I have that gsr o2. I have to rewire the 7 wire plug to match the 4 wire, but don't know exactly which wires I need to get rid of or move around. Any experienced help with this would be great. This is a common issue in VX/GSR swaps. Only problem is that VX/GSR swaps are rare.

Thanks for the help in advance!

What engine harness are you using? I'm assuming you're using the VX engine harness adapted to the GSR correct?

Ok if you are reusing your VX harness it is a fix that requires no added wiring. You need to unpin the wires from the O2 plug on the engine harness. 4 of those wires will be repinned into a 4 prong O2 plug (if you have one) or directly wired to the 4 wire O2.
If you were using an engine harness that has the 4 wire O2 wiring embedded, it's a simple unpin and repin of 1 wire. But that's not the case here so it's a little more difficult.

Here's a write up I did a while ago:

Converting 1992-95 VX to 4 wire O2 using VX engine harness

All wires are present except for the power input, but all wiring can be done using the existing wires in the engine and cabin harness. The following wiring will trace the wires, color-coded, from the engine harness side of the shock tower plug to the O2 sensor you are wiring. Most all wires have color changes at each junction.

D14 - ORG/BLU at O2 plug (engine harness side) - WHT (4 wire O2 plug)
D22 - GRN/WHT at O2 plug (engine harness side) - GRN (4 wire O2 plug)
A6 - YEL/BLK at O2 plug (engine harness side) - BLK (4 wire O2 plug)

There are 2 BLK wires and either one can make either connection. The second BLK wire needs to be connected at B1 or A25. The easiest thing to do is unpin D16 (BLU/GRN) at the ECU and tap it into B1 (YEL/BLK) or A25 (YEL/BLK). Then on the engine harness side O2 connector, connect the ORG wire to the BLK O2 wire.

So what happens to the existing wires that won't be replugged or reused? Will I have to completely remove them from the plug all the way to the ecu? Thanks for help man, much appreciated

You let the existing wires chill....just wrap them up or something you won't have any use for them......
