Default B20vtec or GSR????

okay i currently own a GSR, but the engine has 125k miles on it. I wanna rebuild it cuz i want more power out of it. I AM not gonna track my car or take it dragging every week or anything. I just want to be able to have the torque when i want it

GOALS:
Hit at least 200whp
I want a good amount of torque (i dont have a real specific number)
I want to be able to rev to about 8,000K
I want a reliable engine
Spend less than $3500

I dont know that much about engines, but i have been researching on these forums, as well as team-integra and automotivetech.org. This guy that i've sorta been talkin to works at a shop, and he suggested two things for me:

EDIT
1. Keep B18C1 and resleeve block to 85mm, which would make my displacement pretty close to 2.0 (solves the torque goal). He also said he could do a 5 angle valve job. He said he would also build my bottom end w/ JE pistons (12:1 Compression) with Eagle Rods. Some other titanium stuff that i can't remember. He said he would port/polish my head, titanium Valve Springs and retainers. Bigger, more aggressive cams. The only problem with this is that its going to cost around $5000

EDIT:
2. Get B20 bottom end. JE Pistons 10.5 Compression. Eagle Rods. Balancing and Blueprinting Block. Titanium Retainers and Valve Springs. Port/Polish Head. Bore out my GSR Intake Manifold. Either a B16, GSR, or ITR head. Hondata Chipping and Tuning. He said it should be safe to rev to 8k. He said this set up would cost about $3500, maybe less. Any suggestions on a good B20 Set up???

What do you guys think? Should i keep my GSR engine, or get the B20? Is the b20 block reliable if i plan to rev it hihg? Suggestions? Comments? Any other set ups i should look into??

Go with B20 vtec bro, my B20 is at like 180hp with only ITR header, aem int., ctr cams, and exhaust. Now if you with pistons and some stage 3 cams with Vafc you'll be close to that 200hp. Just a suggestion.

keep the gsr a b20 is a grenade without getting the bottom end rebuilt and resleeved...the sleeves are paper thin...you can definitly get 200whp out of a gsr just stick with that motor and do the valvetrain and bolton's plus a vafc or hondata and you'll make 200 whp...id only mess with the b20vtec's if you got around 5 or 6 for a sick rebuild

if you already have a b18c and are resleeving it why are you even thinking of a b20 block? your 85mm bore will have more displacement over the 84mm. not too sure on price but a rebuild consisting of high comp pistons, resleeve/bore, rods would be a start.

and FYI b20 sleeves are NOT paper thin

put an ls crank in your gsr and have it re-sleeved or bored out depending on your budget. The longer stoke give you more torque lbut you have the stronger bottom end of the gsr and a thicker cyl. wall than a b20.

Yea, that was one of my options, the only thing is that it will cost me more than what i have.

turbo

$3000 for hyrbid kit
$600-1000 for FMU

run low boost and you'll be fine with the right tuning of course.

Yea TUrbo did cross my mind. But i wanna turbo, i would HAVE to get new parts for my engine so that it could handle the boost. The Engine is kind of old, and id ont think it would last long if i boosted my car. So not ONLY do i have to buy the turbo, but i have to pay for new pistons, valves, springs, etc

Yea... the ppl that i've talked to have suggested this. They say it depends on what i want, But since i want torque and not high-revving, i think i'll end up doing teh B20

And O Yea!... i Edited my 1st Post w/ more Detail
