Default B20 harness on a b16a2

Hey! First post to the Honda forums. Anyone know if I could possibly use the b20 harness for a b16a2 and just wire in vtec to the ECU? Not really trying to buy a new harness but if it’s needed then I’ll do it. Thanks!

Welcome to the board.
ALWAYS use the engine harness that matches the year/model/trim level of the chassis you intend to install the engine in. You didn't disclose this information, so there is no way for any of us to know for sure if a CRV harness "may" work.

Haha my bad. The b20 that I have now is in a 1995 integra. I was looking around and I’ve seen something like use the b18b wire harness and just wire in vtec yourself. What’s your thoughts on that?

That's what I would do... or you can use a GSR engine wiring harness and add the wiring from the right side shock tower back to the ECU for VTEC.

See I heard to just use the GSR wire harness but I read that the vtec plugs are different from the b18c and the b16a

Only if you are using an OBD-0 B16A VTEC assembly. Using a newer VTEC assembly solves your wiring issues.
