b18 into civic....

i have a 97 civic ex coupe.......i think i might go with a b18 instead of a h22.... how much slower.. or fast do you think it will be or know? will this require any changees at all in the engine bay or anywhere, its odb2 isnt it???? if i can get a lsd tranny should it, what would the diff be and will it still fit nice????

If you drive a B18 Civic and then a H22 Civic, there's a HUGE difference in torque and throttle response. The B18 Civic is still no slouch but unless you go high compression B18 or more displacement, you won't get the same "feel" of the throttle response as you would with a H22. Still, the B18 setup will be a big difference over your stock 1.6L SOHC motor.

i have a b18c1 in a 93 hatch and its pretty quick, but its not a torque monster by any means. its a very fun car to drive and it will hold its own against most cars on the road, but i think i see the boost fairy paying me a visit within the next year or so.

h22 will pull hard. but with h22, its almost custom fit...if u go B series its almost bolt right in. h2 will give you a headachr but ill be worth it
