The b16a (sir1) is the wrong engine for the 5g chassis don't buy that one.The a1 is the first gen (89-91) b16a and
second gen b16a (sir2) are both jdm engines......sir2 is 92 on up (obd1)
usdm engines are as follows
b16a3 obd1 del sol vtec
b16a2 obd2 99-00 si obd2
the sir1 comes with a cable tranny also so in order for you to make that engine work in your car you would need to purchase a hydrolic tranny, (obd1) distributor, injectors, mounts (custom), and change the wireing....it's not worth the cost...
I've got a B16a1 in my EG. They are just fine as long as you are buying the motor and tranny seperately. I'm using a Del Sol VTEC tranny which hooks rght up to the a1.

You can find swaps for anywhere from $1,900 - $2,800 depending on if it's usdm or jdm, and mileage.I paid $2,100 for mine but i also opted for a gs-r tranny so i paid a little more.If you go jdm figure $2,000 +/- $200.That includes engine, ecu, and tranny

why would u buy a gs-r tranny with a b16?? the gs-r has longer gearing meaning ur b16 is alot slower, it needs the tight gearing in order to perform the way it does

now if it was an LS transmission i would understand, but GSR/B16 tranny isnt that much of a diffrence.

2nd: 1.90 vs 2.10
3rd: 1.36 vs 1.45
4th: 1.03 vs 1.17
5th: .78 vs .84
final: 4.40 ""
Do you really think that it makes that much difference? Esp at 10psi?
So my gears are a tad longer not really enough to effect my et's.....thats when tire sizing comes into effect...
