I've searched and found nothing useful... ?? is like topic says.. Spark plugs are gapped correct, wires are good, map sensor is good.. but it still likes to misfire at cruising speeds.. Its confusing the **** out of me.. The only thing that i can think of thats causing this is the distributer.. also it is throwing no codes.. Can anyone help me out here? or give me a step in the right direction? thanks

How are you determining that it is a mis-fire?? Does it jerk back and forth, do you notice it at a specific rpm/speed?? Only under light load or can you rev the engine and it do the same thing while just sitting still?

it feels like an ignition misfire that is more harsh in light to medium loads.. then at wot it just vibrates the entire car a little... it doesn't miss unloaded. when reving. no it's not to the point of jerking all over.. i can still drive it, its just annoying sometimes.. its intermitant kinda..

it can happen in a light-medium load at anywhere from 1500 rpm to 4000 rpm

Does it seem to mis more when the engine is cold or at normal temps? Check all of you ele. connections on the dizzy and all of your grounds. Did you wash the engine bay latley??

Have you checked fuel pressure?? How many miles on the fuel filter??

The reason I ask about the fuel pressure is that if it idles ok and then when you request fuel there might not be enough fuel supply to the engine causing the hesisitation/mis-fire. Just a thought.

misses at all temps.. no washing of the bay.. connections seem good and tight-i can recheck.. it doesn't miss when its wide open so i don't believe that there is a fuel issue.. but yeah thanks for the help man very much apprieciatied.

I confused a little First you say it "just vibrates the entire car a little", then you say "it doesn't miss when its wide open" So, I am a little confused does it or does it not miss at WOT???

it doesn't miss at a point of a fuel problem... if it was a fuel supply problem the car wouldn't go anywhere at wot.. but yes sorry i miss stated that.. it misses a little at wot but not bad at all. i think i found the problem anyways.. the base timing was set way off.. i retarded it a little bit yesterday and it runs quite a bit better.. so once i get a timing light hooked up to it i'll know for sure.
