Another swap question
Ok, I have a 96 CX which I am going to be swapping a JDM B18C into in January. I have been researching what I need and everything regarding the wiring. I want to keep it simple and do the least amount of extra wires possible. I am wondering if I should get an OBD-II swap and then get the OBD-II to OBD-I jumper harness with an OBD-I ECU (P72)? Or can I just do the OBD-I swap and avoid having to buy the jumper harness? I know that there are 4 wires needed when doing the OBD-II swap, and if I convert over to OBD-I, there will only be 2 wires needed (VTEC, and secondary butterflies), which would elimate the CKF (crank fluctuation sensor), and the second O2 sensor. I live in Michigan, so I have no worries about emissions.
Thanks
Thanks
im trying to understand what ur saying here.... well if ur car is a 96 (obd2) then ur gonna have to buy the conversion harness if u want to run an obd1 ecu. unless u the wire car's harness urself.
and about the ckf sensor.. im almost positive that ur still gonna have to wire it up.. i have the same thing... obd2b to obd1 and mine is wired up. i have a p13 obd1 with that conversion harness. and yes with obd1 only 1 o2 sensor is needed.
