i just bought a 92 eg hatch with a b20bvtec. i got it home and i noticed its leaking oil in some random spots. i kno the cam seal behind vtec is leaking, and theres oil all over my oil pan and the exhaust under the back of the oil pan. what could cause this?

today i was driving and noticed either a knocking and/or tinging noise coming from the motor. when i rev'd it to 2000rpms u could hear it pretty good. when ur driving u can hear the tinging noise. to me it sounds like both a rod knock and valve tap. what are yall's opinion?

it sucks too cuz i just spent 3400 bucks on this thing and having these probs (this is a honda for ya lol)

I'm having the same problem with the noise. I don't think it is a rod because when a rod knocks it gets louder as you drive it mine is slight knock then it goes away after about 3000 rpms. I had a couple of buddies say it is not a rod but maybe a throw out bearing because it is only noticeable when the car is in gear. Is yours only doing it in gear?

 

its my crank pulley. the keyway is all ate up and the key looks like a mini metal mr.hanky.
