Default 6500 Rev limit, vtec problem?

What up guys? Well i'm sorta new in postin here, i come alot and read mostly, but here is my problem. I swapped an 94 h22a into my 93 accord.
First off my vtec isnt working. I am throwing code 22 (pressure switch) and 36 which I have been told is the jspec traction control. Well I havent ordered a new pressure switch because me and my bro wanted to make sure it was actaully the cause isntead of something else and then me buyin a switch for nothing. We figured that the vtec not working was also causing my rev limit to be at 6500 rpm, and bascially puttin the car in a limp/safe mode. So this weekend me and accordhybrid tried his pressure switch off his 97 accord, and put it on mines, i know it would have worked because i checked part numbers and all switches were the same, for civic si's, h22's and so on. Well so yea we put it on and still no vtec and 6500 rev limit. I have no clue waht the **** is wrong know, we had checked the wiring when i first did the swap and yea, we have checked for continuety in the switch and there is none, but thats not the problem because Alan's switch we know works but didnt on my car. We even tried to jump the pins on the switch, (ground and ecu) or wires i mean to check if maybe i wired it wrong and had a ground to the ecu and that didtn work either. Now i dont know whats wrong. My main consern is the 6500 rev limit. Alan said on his OBDII that he was throwin code 22, but was still able to rev past 7k but the engine would not lunge over to vtec, so i think i might have a bad ecu or something, anyone know something that can help? i'm gettin really annoyed and cant find the damn problem, has anyone in a OBDI who was throwin code 22 able to rev past 6500 rpms? i cant find out why i am in a limp mode if i'm not even throwin any more codes. Any help would be great guys.
Thanks,
Carlos

well h22s dont have a high redline. I dont think vtec would prevent you from reving.

check your ECU i did my type r swap and when i drove it it would not rev above 6500 and had no vtec. i checked my ecu and it was a dx computer lol so i had to order a jun ecu off ebay. but that was my problem i dont know maybe yours is a stock accord ecu like a lx or something

Before we go any further, what is imprinted on your ECU? Better be P13.

yes as far as i know it isa p13, and thats what the ecu says. but i dunno, i dont see why i cant rev past that even w/o vtec. but i'll have to see, hopefully i can try out my friends when he gets his swap done. Any other ideas?

Okay, that's good to hear. Now the fun part...diagnosing it.

BTW, did you have the car warmed up before trying to hit VTEC? And is your oil level full?

uhh well actaully its was runnin on 4 quarts, i added some and i need to change the oil this week, i didnt know that the h22's take 5.25 quarts so i do now, but i have been told that it should still kick it, and i dont see why that would cause my rev limit. i will change the oil though and see if that helps.

6,500 is the rev limit if the VTEC cams do not engage.

Did you ever get that code 22 cleared up? When you put that new Solonoid on did you reset the ECU?

No. totally untrue. vtec does not have "cams" it has lobes on the cams.

anyway vtec not working will not affect rev limit.

code 22 does not put the ecu into limp mode (on b series ECU's it MAY on the p13 but i dont know for sure.) somthing else is happening to cause limp mode.

yea vtec doesnt have cams, like he said it has lobes on the cam so when vtec kicks in, it switches to the vtec lobes, but my concern is that it should rev past 6500 on the low rpm lobes even without vtec working. No i didnt put a new silinoid because my silinoid is good. Code 22 for OBDI is only the vtec pressure switch, on OBDII, code 22 is pressure switch, silinoid and another thing i forget. When i did put a known good pressure switch this weekend, yes we reset the ecu, the only thign we did not try was my switch on my friend's hybrid but thats cause his car was not running so we couldnt even give it the ignition to see if he got a code.

What else could the problem be that would put the ecu into a limp mode if the only thing he has is 2 codes 22 which is pressure switch and code 36 which is said to be JDM traction control which I don't think would throw the ecu into limp mode.
