Mine a few weeks before I sold it.
Cant beat the factory parts for fitment, cost, durability and looks, IMHO

Very nice! I've got a black S that I've considered adding the top to for winter driving. I haven't checked out the non-factory options yet...

Hmmm...never really thought about buying an S2000...I thought they sexy and all but just the idea of the whole open top roadster seemed kind of Barbieish. This hardtop thing is really sumthin, doe you also get to remove all of the soft top stuff and the motors (if they come powered). Amazing what a day on Honda-Tech can do for you. You see a turbocharged Team Hybrid S2000 one second, and then you see a forum w/ a hardtop. The carbon fiber one is what I'd get for sure....so i still looks kinda like a convertable, just w/ the top up. Plus can't go wrong w/ it. Well looks like I have to pick between an old NSX or an S2000. Decisions, decisions =X

well, first off let me say "welcome to H-T", you'll find some useful people. S2k vs NSX - well think of it this way with 33k yo can get a new S2k or an old NSX (92ish). Some people want a brand new car, and some want an old one for cheap. As for the convertible top, you can remove the soft top and motor when you have the hard top on but it is not necessary. I find it useful to have both, because i use the hardtop during not so sunny days and use the convertible feature when the sun is out.

Re: (RiceFx306)

IMO, one of the best looking s2k is the silver one with the ferarri 550 style hood with hard top.

Have you driven a S2000 or NSX?

Re: (JMS JT)

what do u guys think about black hardtops?

think red s2k black rota slips and a black ht and a cf hood....

id like to see what it looks like. i think the color scheme would look real nice

Razor 10-26-2003 05:12 PM

Re: (mugensport9)

i think it'd look nice if you had other black pieces to match, like cf hood/trunk, wheels.

but if its stock, the red ht would look sweet on the red s2k. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (Razor)

I wanted to do this so bad with my spa yellow (get a black hardtop) but since i couldnt find pics and no one had one around me, i just went with the SPA. Only saving grace was the $500 discount because the new yellow is coming out.

munckee 10-29-2003 10:11 AM

The black hardtop matches just about any color, as would be expected since it mimics the soft top. I tend to prefer a color-matched HT, but either looks fine.

How much more is it for a h/t than a convertible?

The hardtop is an additional option. It fits over the soft top on any model year s2000. The soft top does not have to be removed; it is stored under the hardtop in the down position.

MSRP on a hardtop is $3k, but they vary anywhere from $2k-$5k depending on who you buy from and how bad your dealer is trying to rape you. If you're looking for one, contact Jeff at Ganley Honda out of Ohio (I think it's ohio). He has the best prices in the country, bar none.

Why do threads like this get bumped to the top? Before my post the last post was 11/01/03? But "Recent Topics" shows 11/06/03. Does someone make a post and cancel it or what? I've noticed this happens a lot here.

DC2 Rness 11-06-2003 08:21 PM

I just bought my 03' s2000 about a month ago, the dealer charged me 1800 more for the hardtop. Seeing all these prices i think i got a good deal no?
