Urgent help needed with S2000 MY00 keyless entry module
Long story short. Bought some festoon lights from reputable USA company, after a year or so, the dome light shorted out from its aluminum heat sink while door was open, causing smoke coming out from inside of the keyless entry module.
I was lucky the whole car didnt burned out as the heat melted/warped the whole keyless entry module housing.
As im from EU, parts are hard to find as USA parts cannot be used because of different frequenzy in keyless module.
So im trying to fix my module. I see there is at least one burned/blown diode close to the connector. I see some markings there (SA4 NM) i cant find any parts from that number though.
If someone has a S2K keyless entry module nearby, could you open it up and took some pictures from it? From the backside, near connector and post them to here or PM? I need to fix some traces as well, as the PCB is burned out on the diode area.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Further tests and circuit diagram studies seem to also indicate either burned drivers side door switch wire (green), or burned diode in gauge cluster, or also the worst case scenario, burned out CPU input in gauge cluster. I swapped the burned diode in keyless entry module to some basic one from the alarm system and got the dome light working from passenger side door switch. The drivers side is still dead. And because the both switch outputs go through gauge cluster with separate wires, before going to keyless entry module with single wire, it indicates my repair for keyless entry should be okay and more problems are elsewhere.
FML. Be carefull with dome lights. Morimoto XB LED 2.0 particularly...
Edit 2: Took the cluster off and opened it... At least 2 burned diodes (D1 and D15) just under the B connector. Now theres a big chance the CPU is also fried. This **** just gets better and better... This dome light just might be the most expensive one ever.
