Shin-Etsu grease on those shims.

Re: squeaky brakes (Honda S2000)
1 set of AP1 pads, 2 sets of AP2 pads, only squeaked once. I glazed my pads at the track, had to burn that shiny surface off.

Re: squeaky brakes (tyrone)
Ok first of all, for asking those questions, smear some grease on your forehead. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif jk
Now for the easy part. The shim is the thin piece of aluminum that attaches to the back of the pads. Apply the grease to the back of the shim, the side that touches the caliper piston. Voila. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: squeaky brakes (tyrone)
You definitely have to remove the wheels to change or service your brake pads.

Re: squeaky brakes (Slideways2000)
i have noticed annoying squeaking with my 04's brake pads. At first i thought they were getting worn down, but after inspecting them, they just need greased. I have just been too lazy to do it. After all, i've only put 100 miles on the car in the past 3 months. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif

Re: squeaky brakes (ScreaminTeg)
Wow. On my Berlina I put down 18k miles in 6 months, on the GPW 6.4k in 5 months. You're S must feel lonely.

Re: squeaky brakes (tyrone)
There are 2 caliper mounting bolts. They are 17mm socket. You need to take one off and loosen the other one so you can swing the caliper out and access the pads.
