Default rick's console cover install ... problems and solutions

I installed my rick's console cover, and i must say it is a great purchase. I am very happy with it. I also put in the 04/05 radio door which i am not happy with, so i took it out shortly after the picture was taken. But my main issue was when i fixed the cigarette lighter (it was loose, i had to tighten it up from behind the plastic)
i couldn't get the entire glove/secret compartment out... i did get it enough to tighten it though. but it didn't go back in all the way when i tried to snap it back into place.

any hints??

how about using a mallot to hammer it in?? maybe there's something holding it from falling all the way into the hole

try pusing all the locking points really hard as you can w/o cracking it .. i see you didnt cut the carpeting so its thick now and the "snappy lock" wouldnt be able to reach the "locking thing" .. in the carbon fiber center console you suppose to cut the carpet ... so thats prolly one the reason it wont lock anymore ...

rick's instructions didn't mention anything about cutting the carpet.. i did not know you were supposed to.

The center console went in just fine.. its the glovebox/secret compartment area that won't snap back in... i got it to work somewhat.. it just doesn't seem to line up right... still a little off

Hmm.. Thats weird, we didnt have any problems putting ours in and we didnt have to cut anything. Maybe its just not sitting in straight? Im sure you have looked at it from every angle and tried various things but you never know. I would keep messing with it it should go back in.

I really like the look of the console cover.. very nice. What'd you hate so much about the 04-05 radio cover? I was thinking about switching it over but i have my doubts.
