Could any one tell me what brand of intake this is? and why its shapped like this

gruppe m intake I believe. Not sure on why they did the design like that. never really looked into it

That's the result of excessive back pressure.




Jus keeding, it's designed for throttle response, a result of high plenum volume.

bingo... the large plenums allow for excellent throttle response due to the amount of air that is readily available to the throttle body.

as you will notice, all the high dollar intakes (with the exception of mugen lol) use that design because they are the best... gruppe m, pwjdm, and j's all have that design.

It's a gruppe m intake and it's no longer in production. PWJDM knocked it off, so they still have it for sale.

i cant wait to get a PWJDM intake for mine, ive heard nothing but excellent things about its performance and sound. only a couple fitment issues ive heard of which can be adressed by adjusting the hood latch ;-)

Password JDM seems the way to go. I've also read of fitment issues getting the lid on the airbox; some having problems with the fourth screw. I'm still getting one before xmas though. Speaking of overpriced intakes, this ASM one probably takes the cake. Don't know why anyone in their right mind would pay that much for one.
