Hardtop puchase question!
I have been thinking about getting a top. I prefer the OEM, but as they are hard to find and very expensive I think I will get the forbidden USA top. They are also much lighter than stock.
My car has 35k miles and the top is already beginning to tear, I need to fix that soon, and I choose wisely before I decide to drop the top. As I plan on keeping the car for a long time I don't want a worn top to be an issue. Besides, hardtops look badass.

I know it's expensive, but I would go with OEM, best aesthetic mod I ever did. Also, because they stopped making them, when you do find one you will be able to sell it for pretty much what you paid for it. Looks super clean IMO, the other hardtops never look right. (Mugen one is nice too)

That black S2000 front bumper....that's not stock right? Sorry dont know it all when it comes to this car but I'm in the market to get one. I thought a white one but after looking at this one, lowered with the wheels and hard top....black looks very nice too.

It looks like an ap2 bumper with the oem spoiler but with an added lip. I'm not sure, I am interested to know too as I am in the market for a front spoiler. Can't decide on the oem spoiler or the cr spoiler. But I digress.
Back to hard tops...
Anyone have any good close up photos of the OEM style Forbidden carbon top? I've looked around but can't find any that show the fitment.
edit: Just learned that it is just now being released. lol

The mouth of the bumper just seems larger than normal. Could just be me. Looks good either way.

If this is the real forbidden then I dunno, looks like some gaps there.
Reply from a question made about the top: "this is our first top that does not have a rear black trim in the window. He was allowed to sell it for helping us out throughout the project."

Some of my buddies make fun of me, after spending all this money and adding a $12 lip, however I think it finishes the car off nicely
I removed the grill because it just looked wierd with the intercooler.Might as well whor out some more pics (I like the home depot lip, as long as you secure it properly and replace it when it gets beat up)

I am looking at buying an S2000 AP1 with an optional hardtop. What are the benefits and problems of the hardtop? Reduced wind noise seems the big benefit. Taking it on and off and storing seems the big problem.
Is it more spacious or light inside?

Benefits are breaks on insurance, its quiet and it looks amazing. Taking the top off is not a big deal, its 4 latches and its off, only weighs about 30 pounds. Riding inside you'll notice it feels a bit smaller but there's plenty of room.
to tell the truth replicas are a hit or miss. Mostly misses from what I've heard and seen. Also note that that price does not include hardware, which is the most expensive part of a hardtop purchase. I'd never buy one because I don't like the business mentality of replica manufacturers, but also because I hate to think how annoying a poorly fitting hardtop would be.
