Dome light question
I just go my 2004 S2000 back from a shop that put a new top on for me. My orginal top was slit open during a breakin while on vacation. This may have nothing to do with my problem, but I wanted to thrown that out there. My dome lights will only come on with the switch in the ceter position, and when I push the buttons. Nothing in the on position, and nothing when I open the door. Haven't tried replacing the bulbs because I can get them to come on pushing the buttons in center position. What could this be? Fuse? Switch? Need new bulbs? I found one other topic on this in the search, but it never really diagnosed the problem. Thanks in adavance to anyone who can help me figure this out.

i have the same issue.. i think the old owner replaced the top or opened it up or somecrap and now sometimes the dome light wont come on and u need to bang on it. i think it might be a loose connection but i havent checked yet.
Just got around to fixing my dome light issue. I didn't have a dremmel tool as the link suggests using, so I tried just a q-tip with some alcohol. Didn't really get the cleaning done, so I used a nylon brush and some CLP from my pistol cleaning kit. Worked like a charm. The worst part was getting the piece back in with the ball bearings. I'm wondering if you really even need to take that piece out since it seems that the corroded metal contact points are the reason for the failure. Glad that job is done, now on to the next project.
