Default COILOVER PURCHASING QUESTION HELP GURUS

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

first off please not let this thread go on and on with people ranting about nonsense i just want an answer not an opinion not I have these other coilovers that run better...yadda yadda yadda...just a simple answer on anyones part is helpful....

okay im looking into getting some ground control coilovers only for the stock shocks maybe with some specific spring rates..(I know s2000s stock suspensions better, go buy some good stuff for like $2000 dollars cause on the track it does good times) all in all in does not matter to me this is for a weekend car i hardly drive the car no i dont care if i kill the shocks cause ill just buy some new ones its just for a look not to perform...ive owned cars with tein mono flexs Ground controls with koni yellows, cheap coilovers they mostly ride the same like ****.....yes the adjustable dampers do help but not alot plus i like to feel the road

question is how low can i go...can i dump the car why i ask cause i just want to know if its dumpable its not going to be but i want to know if it can go low and for wats it worth do they drive decent on S2000s note i said S2000s?

ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED

PLEASE NO RANTING I KNOW IVE HEARD ALL OF IT ALREADY

You CAN dump it. you can send konis off and get them shortened, set the cups on the bottom, get some 6" springs and it can go super low.
But you didnt like the ride? that has to do with your spring rate as much as dampener.
or Just buy KW V3.

not to be a dick but coil overs dont make u get a faster lap time... thats up to the driver.. and u can slam ur car with ground controls... just make sure u get axle spacers .. or else ull be changing axles every few months.. if u wanna slam the **** out of it.. ull also be hurting the cars steering.... but like u said if u dont give a rats *** about how it drives then dont worry about a bump steer kit..

A+ thread, would read again.

'Dumping' your car is gay, is horrible for the suspension geometry and detracts from the vehicles ability to even perform daily tasks.

Want to lower it on a proven suspension setup? Do a nice set of lowering springs with your stock shocks - why you would say you don't care about throwing money away at replacing shocks is beyond me.

Espelir ASDs
Tein S-techs
Skunk2's
etc

You want the dude to buy a $2000 set of NICE coilovers just to dump the car for looks? KWs aren't fully adjustable. A dumped car on KWs would ride as bad as a dumped car on (insert junk *** coilover here).

OP: You can dump the car on stock shocks, but you'll be bottoming out the shock a lot. I know you said this is for looks...but I'm not sure if you need the "practicalitly" of actually driving the car.

If you dont care about the ride then I would go with a set of cheaper full coilover set up for example (d2,megan,F&F) they are fairly inexpensive and they are dampening adjustable so you wont bottom out the body of the car or shock (as long as you adjust it from the bottom up and you can DUMP you car. why do something twice?

I was saying you can dump the car and get a nice correct ride- if you were to do ground control coilover sleeves with the correct spring rates on Shortened Koni dampeners. and this can be done for less than 1500. and if you buy some used konis for around 200. then send those off to be cut and revalved 400ish (they will come back like new), then you can get the GC sleeves and custom springs for 350. Bam, all for under 1000.

you can dump the car on stock shocks if you want to roll around bouncing off the bumpstops. Or buy extended top hats for either set up for about 120. and that will get you the additional shock travel needed!

(I have actually made custom extended top hats to allow the stock shock to get the necessary travel and keep off the bump stops. you just cut the tops off and weld in a peice of 2" pipe, then weld the top on the extended pipe.) you can buy extened hats, but usually only in their standard length.
