you probably want to wait for the next generation, there's no type R because their are all pretty much maxed out, all of them

depends on how you look at it.
alot of people see great results when modding a type-r, but on the other hand alot of people actually hurt the performance of the type-r since they are built so well. it all depends on what you do and how you go about it.

According to your link, they stated that the Type R will carry a weight reduction with no increase in power, maybe even have a 200-220 K motor in there. I guess that makes mine a Type R?

sure, if that makes you feel better.
the s2000 is probably as advanced and tuned as you can possibly expect out of a factory car, esp. considering the most quality performance bolt-ons for the F20 save weight more than anything. but this type r variant supposedly would reduce over 200 lbs, tune the suspension and massage the engine a little more. i dont know what's wrong with that. then you can shave even more weight by adding a titanium catback (40 lbs savings) and some other more minor mods like lighter wheels, and possibly bring the weight below 2500 lbs. then maybe throw in 4.77 gears. that would be one damn quick s2k.

The weight loss sounds nice, but look whats given up. I don`t know about you guys, but I enjoy my a/c, on a few occasions, and power top, always. And the S is fairly loud on the interior already, and I don`t have an exaust system. Seems to me giving up all this stuff is not an upgrade. My son has a Type-S Acura, THAT is an upgrade over a standard coupe. How about an upgraded engine, maybe a s/charged V6 with about 375 hp. That`s what the S2000 really needs.
