I've had window motors go out before in other cars, and normally they start to slowly roll up and down, than finally stop working but make a humming or buzzing sound... my window rolled up and down just fine than I left the windows cracked, left to go home and the passanger window doesn't wanna work at all, I've checked all my fuses, took the door panel off and made sure nothing was lose, tested the terminals to make sure the were receiving power and they are.... the only thing I can think of now it my motor went out, and no where near normal way, I called dealerships and parts stores and they're all 200 plus.. I don't plan on having my car for long so I want to just get a salvaged motor... anyone know how I can find the part number for the motor, and if any other cars use the exact motor cuz preludes are hard to find


AND ALSO my wiring harness to the light swtich (stick or whatever) if theres another car that uses that same harness.... thanks!!

 

First things first - make sure the master switch on your driver's door is "on".

I spent a couple hours trying to fix my "broken" window until I glanced over and saw the master was off.

 

It also could be the switch, the switches go out. I should know, mine did, and also my motor was crap.

Put a wanted post up and someone will help you out, I got a motor for $45 and a switch for $15. really good deals compared to dealership.

okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk now that my window is fixed hahahaha, wut about my lights? I know it's the wiring harness everyones been telling me that but I can only get it from the dealership cuz no salvage yards have a prelude, when I tell them I have a prelude they laugh... haha.. but dealerships want way to much money for one, so is the light harness (connect to the light switch thing and runs down by the underdash fuse box) only for my car or do they have the same harness in other cars???

and THANK YOUUUUUU LEWDIN HAHA i WOULD HAVE BEEN PAYING 200.00 bucks for nothing...

I'm not following you on your wiring question. You're headlight selector switch is out?

 

you know the rod you turn.... the first trun, turns on your dash lights and corners and rear red lights and than the second turn, turns on headlights... well the first turn isn't working even when I turn the headlights all the way on... under the steering wheel cover theres a harness connected from that rod to a terminal by the underdash fuse box.... everyone I've talked to said it is that prob cuz it's happen to them... I'm just curious if that same harness is other cars... like accords or something...

I don't know about other models' wiring working, but I have seen the switch assembly on ebay for not very much.

 

know where I can find part numbers? if I had that I could just go match it :-D haha
