Default What ECU?

Hey guys I have quick question. I was talking to a guy about trading in my integra for a prelude and he told me I would have to buy and ecu to get the H22 motor to work. The car is a 93 prelude with an 98 H22 motor, he has been using an H23 ecu for a while and I just need to know which one I would need to buy to get it to run right, and prevent check engine lights etc.

What year ecu or does it even matter? The motor is out of a 97 not a 98 like I had said. Also does the ecu matter since it isn't an SH motor?

maybe im wrong but i dont think the 5th gen motors run p13's

and i would try the ecu on the car to make sure he didnt mess anything up cuz using the wrong ecu for that long can mess up a lot of things.

So with it being a 97 motor that works with obd2 I need the obd1 ecu for the car since the car is originally obd1. Am I getting this correctly? I want to make sure before I go on ebay and buy one and it still doesn't work.

depends on what all they converted over. If the car is converted to obd1 you just pop the ecu in (obd1 ecu) and away ya go. It sounds like your saying it is converted so should be anything too hard. Just watch that alot of cars that get converted could be don't done properly and it could be full of headahches. Make sure there are no cels when you get the car. Even if you no cells pop up , jump the check connector and make sure. Some people will clear the errors and you can get it later on even .

I wouldn't get it from ebay. Buy one off here from xenocron or something who's similiarly reliable.

Thanks for your help! After some long research I basically figured out that I need the P13 Ecu mt version and I need to check to see if he converted the dizzy to the external coil type. He said vtec was wired up already so I should be able to plug and play the ecu if all the dizzy is right. I will get back to y'all and let you know what happens.
