Default VAFC memory loss problem

(92 JDM H22 swap) So i have the Apexi vafc hooked up to the ecu and i used the wire diagram on the Apexi sight. now for the power and memory there is an orange and red wire. i hooked both up to the "IG" or ignition yellow wire a21. so how come i have to set my controller every time i start the car. where is my memory? did i not hook it up to a constant power or battery back up? PLLLLEEEZZZZ help. (also on the IG wire, there is a VTEC wire harness thats hooked up to it as well) TIA

Another problem now that i think of it. when it says to have the in and out to be set at 06 and 06 for the sensor how come my engine wont start. it wants to start but does not kick over. How come and is this normal? i do have it set to 4 liter and the arrow is pointing in the right direction and i do select Initalize but again when i shut the car off i loose all my data. HELP

one needs to be constant voltage, the other is to the igniton for "on"

Why are you using a vafc anyway.
they are trash, complete trash, a light show.
thats like trying to tune with a narrow band o2

some disagree, and thats fine, they can say what they want, dosent change the fact that a vafc is NOT a tuning instrument. its just a light show.

Again, go level your tree elf, civic boy.

OP, either your constant voltage splice is loose or you have a defective unit.

okay so if i keep it to a constant voltage were should i hook the wires up and what color is the one that is the constant power. i can feed a wire from the fuse box that has a constant but then wouldnt the VAFC be on all the time and the battery would go?

and how come when the settings are set to 06 in and 06 out my car will NOT start. am i suppose to be setting it to that or can i keep it at 01 in and 01 out?

Go to Apexi's website and download the PDF instructions.

My tree elf is allready leveld thank you.
civic boy? lol

thats right kronn is using a vafc too. lol, light show boy!

Do you have the switched voltage and constant wires backwards? sometimes the red wire is switched while the yellow or orange wire is constant.
You should do a little research of the vafc, you will then see there is of no need to use it. light show boy will tell you otherwise. no need to listen to us, just go do your own research. you could sell that pos and get somthing that will help your car, crome pro or ectune is about 130$, and is an actual tuning device.

i did use the APEXI site and the wrie diagram and it said to hook the red and orange wire to the IG ignition wire. i did double check to see if i did do something wrong but it looks to me like i did do it right.

I just want this "light show" to work because it does tell me when i can lower my vtec and thats the main reason other than throttle and air fuel response. any ways thank you guys for your help already i just want to get this to work. If any one else has a VAFC can they look and tell me if the wires that i described are in the right place and were i can keep my memory.

I did do research and this is were i am at...

OP, I can't help you much with the splicing, since I used a PnP harness. But you might also check the tiny 2 or 3 prong connection that comes out of the VAFC. Mine wasn't making a good connection and required some adjustment.

Tree Elf Civic boy. A little research will tell you that there aren't many tuning options out there if you want to retain ATTS. I admit that a VAFC can only adjust A/F ratio and VTEC engagement, but that's all I was looking for as the motor is stock. It was the most economical choice. Also, since leaning out my A/F and adjusting my VTEC, I gained 3-4whp throughout the curve, cleaned up my VTEC spike, and increased my gas mileage by 4mpg. That means this "lightshow" improved performance AND it will pay for itself in under a year. Boy, what a stupid choice, huh?
