Transmission Problems
Okay I've got some serious issues. First things first, when my I shift from say first to second, then second to third, when my car get's to the "nuetral" point, it damn near shuts off if I don't shift fast enough (I have to THROW it to get it to keep running) second, if it's in nuetral and I just wiggle back and forth it will turn off. Next problem, my car will not stay in 5th gear, it will literally be FORCED out of 5th gear when I drive it (usually three or so miles after it's in 5th gear). And lastly, it squeels like crazy, and my guess is it's from the power steering pump, can this be from beeing to TIGHT, because i' tightened it, and it still squeels...maybe loosen it? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Okay lets see what I can make of what you wrote.
Your saying that between gears the RPM's drop and the car stalls??
If you put the car in Neutral the car will stall? So basically it will not Idle?
- If this is the case... Check all your vacuum lines. Also you might want to adjust the idle screw.
Your saying that if you put it in 5th it will pop back into Neutral position?
Or if you get it to stay in 5th it will not come back out easily?
- If this is what you mean then you most likely have a bent shift fork or your shift linkage needs adjusting.
NOTE - This could also all point to you needing to bleed the clutch. But I doubt it since you say it will stall if you put it into Neutral position.
Now the squealing - is this coming from the side of the engine near the PS pump? Or near the Tranny? This could be a slipping Belt. Or it could be a bad bearing in your pump, alt or AC.
If it's coming from the tranny side it is prolly your TOB (throw out Bearing)
If you have not done much work on cars in the past and do not know someone who might be able to help you I would take it to someone to just have them look at it. Then you can decide if you can do the work or not. Just don't jump in over your head.

Well in nuetral it will idle, BUT if I put it in gear and return to nuetral it will stall.
And when in 5th it will pop out and into nuetral, and I can feel the force, and many people have told me it's the shift fork...but where is it located? I took apart the entire center console, and checked the shift linkage (from inside) and couldn't see anything bent/broken. So I installed my 4bidden short shifter, and the problem is still there (I thought maybe just adjusting it/fiddling..but no). And I have done some work in the past, but I would guess not enough to really dig into it and get alot done on my own, but I am having some knowledgable friends help me out. But you could start by telling me if the shift fork is visible inside the car of if it's in the engine bay. Because my Chiltons book (which sucks) doesn't say.

thanks.

The shift forks are INSIDE the TRANNY. You'll actually have to drop the transmission and crack the case open to find the shift forks... sorry to say, but it looks like you'll either be rebuilding the tranny or replacing it with a new/used one. Happened on my B16 Tranny (the 5th gear thing) and it ended up being a ground down gear (probably from not keeping enough oil in the transmission).
Anyway, that's all I can help you with on that one... your problems don't seem to be related (engine stalling and 5th gear thing).
Like someone already said, you'll probably want to check all your vac lines and make sure your idle is set properly....
Good Luck!!!
