Icon3 Transmission problem!!!

Posting this for a friend:
Hey guys I have a honda prelude 95 se H23 nonVtec. Recently I bought a new tranny from Pride Perfomance in Jersey and i was told that it was an H22 LSD. I bought a stage 3 clutch with a fidanza flywheel and got everything installed only to find out that i couldnt downshift to 2nd gear. After it was bled, I drove it around everything was fine, but that one problem. It does not grind or anything.. It's just like it never existed it won't go in but when I go from 1st to 2nd everything is fine. I was confused so I looked up the tranny code M2L5 which I think is f22 (double check me on that) and I was already mad because I was lied to, but I need to have opinions on my problem and for someone to double check my tranny code. Thanks guys I'll aporiciate your feedback!!

That tranny is not lsd unless it has an aftermarket lsd installed. And the gears are long as ****. There is plenty of info to be found here on HT regarding tranny codes/problems/etc. Use the search function. Your best bet would be to buy a new tranny or deal with what you have. Unless there is a problem with the shift linkage or something like that. And BTW that stage 3 clutch, whatever brand it is, is complete overkill and will probably cause you problems down the road, not to mention poor drivability.

About half way down is the Transmission Codes. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-prelude-4/will-f22-tranny-fit-h22a4-motor-2507728/

The M2L5 is a stock 4thGen Model S Transmission mated to the F22A1.

You should tell him to go back to that shop and throw that Transmission through their store. They told him a BOLD FACE LIE. It's possible, maybe for some strange reason, they put a LSD in it, but I doubt it..

Did he check differential before he installed it??

I would definitely talk to that shop and correct their ignorance. How much did they charge? Did they give any specs? What LSD? Etc..??

Well, $587 isn't bad if it DOES have and LSD.

You should ask them what the Transmission came out of and if the casing had been swapped. Also ask what LSD is in there..
