Default Tranny Question

Just bought a 95 Hatch with a 97 SH swap turbo'd. Havent had a chance to see if the clutch is adjusted right but the thing grinds reallll bad when i go to put it in first like im not even pushing the clutch in. The clutch is an ACT stage 3 and bangs through all gears so im pretty sure its not the clutch. I have an h23 tranny so my question is can i swap out any of the gears into the sh tranny?

I don't even understand how an Sh tranny with the ATTS unit would fit into a civic.

I havent got under the car to check if its even installed or if he ran a modified axle. Gonna try to bleed the clutch and/or make sure its hooked up right bc it doesnt engage til its all the way out as well. Doesnt slip tho through each gear which is weird.

added some fluid and bled the clutch a few times and still grinds, im starting to think its the synchro but havent had a 1st gear go bad. Also found out the atts was removed and a countershaft was put in place. So does anyone have any info about swapping the h23 parts into the sh tranny? Is there any difference besides the bolt pattern to the motor?

It should be. Because I remember reading that if I upgraded to an H22 that I could use my h23 tranny.

i'd have to check my helm's to verify, but all the tranny internals should be interchangeable other than the fd. you could also download the helm's from www.spoonhonda.com for yourself and check it out. or go to www.slhonda.com and check out the part numbers and see if they're the same.

I am very doubtful you bought a hatch with the ATTS installed (but hey its possible!) What likely DID happen was that you have the ENGINE from a 97SH. Any H/F transmission (Minus the S2k) transmission will bolt up on there, all that is needed is an adapter plate on the half shaft. You'll be able to directly swap the H23 transmission you have.

i stated above that it was removed. And actually you may be wrong on this, i already tried the h23 tranny on a previous SH motor in another 97 prelude i had, bolt pattern is different. The guy i got the car from bought the aftermarket 400hp axles already to drop in the car and bolt to this tranny.

sorry, read your post wrong. thought you were trying to swap parts from a standard h22 trans into the SH trans. h23 gearing is completely different from the h22, so parts will not be interchangeable, except perhaps unless you're swapping entire gear sets, but then you'll have crappy gear ratios.
