Topic: going with out A/C any risks ?
2 questions
first what is the A.C compressor belt connected to ?
if im gonna get rid of the compressor and the rest of the hoses just wondering whatever the belt is connected to does it have a purpose ?
and second am i facing any risks ?
like i read somewhere that A/C when on. The rpm's go down or somethin so im assuming it has its part in the preformance of the engine so is it bad that i get rid of the a/c ?

The only thing I think youll be risking is being hot on a summer day.
Why is it that you are taking it out? I think the only time the AC effects the rmps is when the ac is on. I dont think youll game HP from taking it out as it would function the same as if it were just taken out.

to be honest i never use the A/C anyways
plus A/C on = eats more gas
and finaly this is for a swap i dont feel like screwing around with the A/C compressor and all its hoses when i install just not worth it to me for somethin i dont use.

A/C is on the Alternator belt line..you need to get a different sized belt. There's no issue with removing it other than not having A/C. Get your system properly drain before you remove it.
When A/C is running it takes engine power to run it = robs power. It's not really going to give you more power..but it drops some weight and any drag it causes while in 'idle' mode.

so whats the proper way to remove it from accord ?
sepretly or get it out with the engine at the same time

I disconnect the A/C lines all the time. Just grab some wrenches that fit and loosen it till it hisses. Walk away for a while come back and lossen it a little more. When it stops hissing you can finish opening it. There is also a valve on the line but I like my way. The shrader valve can be anoying plus you have to stand there and bleed it.

what satan was trying to say is the proper way to drain the a/c lines is to take it somewhere that has a refrigerant collection unit so that the stuff doesnt get released into the atmosphere.
Isn't there like a HUGE fine if someone gets caught releasing rerigerant into the atmosphere? Isn't there also "supposedly" an award for the one who catches that person?.......I have my eyes on you h22accordking - be scared.
