Alright. I jus tbought a car from a guy in chicago that used it for track racing. It has an aftermarket computer setup in it that has a sheild pop riveted over it. AnyWho.When I first start it up cold it revvs straight to 3200 to 3500 and slowly climbs back down. (without me touching the gas) Does it sould like Computer issues that just needs tuning or does it sound like mechanical issues like the vacuum system being clogged or something? Also while driving, the car seems like it is accelerating by it self, I let off the gas and it still goes for a sec then acts like I suddenly ripped my foot off the gas after a full throttle. I checked the throttle cable and there is enough play that it wouldn't be the throttle stuck open any. Any thoughts??

 

sounds about normal i guess. when the car is cold on start up the idle is kinda high then as the motor warms up the idle will drop down

 

Yeah I thought it was a bit high for normal but maybe it is. Now I just dont have a clue why my throttle seems stuck slightly open at times. I think Imma take it out and clean it REAL good and see if it does anything. I know the computer has had work done to it though. I was just woundering if it seemed like something the computer has been programmed to do. If I touch my gas pedal while driving, I am accelerating. In order to keep a consistant speed, I pretty much just dont touch my pedal. It does it by it self. but the throttle isnt open.....
