well, i shattered my inner CV joint on the passenger side (US DRIVER SIDE) on my boosted JDM lude 1992 vtec here are the pics

so anyway, im a bit broke at the mo, found a 5th gen axle at a junk yard and i know it wont fit my 4th gen, but my question is if i remove the outer CV joint from my 4th gen axle and put in on the 5th gen, well it be ok?

The 5th gen axle has the same spline size as the 4th gen. So it should fit in your 4th gen hub, but the difference is in the length. I do not think it's that significant, but I am not sure if it'll have any issues with the 4th gen hub.

I did a 5th gen knuckle swap on my 4th Gen and I've used both axles before. Only difference is if I used 4th gen axles with the 5th gen hub, I had to use washers on the axle nut as there was not enough length to apply the proper torque on the axle nut.

THE 5TH GEN AXLES DID NOT WORK IN MY 4TH GEN HUB. the 5th gen rubbed against a metal ring type fixture which is just behind the wheel bearing onmy 4th gen. the CV joint on the 5th gen is different to the 4th gen CV joint.

my question was if i put the 4th gen CV joint on the 5th gen axle will it work ok? has anyone tried this?

Metal ring fixture?

Are you reffering to the wheel bearing cover or the ABS ring on the axle?

must be hitting that little dust shield piece behind the wheel bearing.

sounds like you have all the pieces, why not try it and see!!
