Default Shift boot suggestions needed

Hey everyone. This is my first post on honda-tech.

I've had a 2000 perlude for you about a year now. It's currently stock, although lately I've become more interested in modding it.

Getting to the point, my friend got me a new shift ****, and as most of you probably know, aftermarket shift ***** wont hold the shift boot up. So I was wondering what kind of boots work/look best as a replacement to the stock one. Will any work? Thanks in advance!

you have to get a little creative with keeping the shift boot up.

the easiest solution is to get the plastic ring from a civic (plain black plastic ring + rubber band) and install it on your shift boot. then, use another rubber grommet or rubber band wrapped around the shifter to hold the plastic ring up.

Yep.

I took my center console out, cut a small hole(needle size) in the side where it will meet the shift ****.

I put a little piece of thread through there, put the console back on, and tied it. Can't even see it. I just used black sewing thread. Worked fine - and its adjustable.

Thanks for all the replies. I worked on it yesterday and it looks great. I ended up buying a type-r boot, removed the center console, removed the staples that held the stock boot to its mount, made some cuts into the ITR boot so that it would wrap around, then super glued it to the stock mount.

As for keeping the boot up, I got a cork, cut the top off, drilled a hole in the middle, slid it onto the shifter, then reinstalled the console + boot over it. I'm really happy with the results.. everything's snug.

Here's a pic

I installed the new cd player right after I did the boot. Pretty happy with it too

A boot from Redline Goods would go perfect over a short shifter

Thanks! It's actually a 9847.

I've got another question.. my headlights seemed to be getting dim so I got some Piaa bulbs. They're H1 (that's the right size, isn't it?) I took a look under the hood and couldn't figure out how to install them. Anybody know? I'm gonna make another post, but I thought I'd ask here first.

That's actually mine. It real life the grey does not look as light as it does in the picture, it is darker. I guess it was the flash.

I am really happy with my shifter and ebrake boot. I agree with 4bidden, the Redline boot (what ever color combo you choose) and his short shifter would look nice. I am still saving for his short shifter.

I know its not much, but here is a link for 5% off from redlinegoods.com. Every little bit helps right?
