What kind of suspension setup would you reccomend for my 99 SH. I've been told that because of the ATTS, I can't get aftermarket struts for it. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

yes, any struts that fit the base will fit the SH, but you MUST also change the springs as well, not just the shocks.

so any kind of struts will work wiith the SH as long as you change the springs also?
i thought the SH has a completely different setup?
i even called tokico and they said that it wont fit on the SH even with aftermarket springs. Same for KYB.
Have you seen any of these struts on an SH model ? I mean have you been in an actual car with these struts to verify that they would work with the SH.
thanks it would be greatly appreciaTED because i cant find any struts for this damn SH. The only ones i found were Koni's and they are a pretty penny to buy.

I like the Mugen Showa suspension. I have it on my '98 SH.
It's a little over a 1 inch drop. It rides nice and handles a lot better.

The SH does have a completely different front suspension - but the coil-over assembly (spring & shock) can be swapped with the base model's.
As you've already discovered, no company makes shocks or springs specific for the SH model (eibach springs are mis-advertised, and Koni's are height adjustable to compensate for the difference).
But if you browse/search around, you'll find plenty of people here who have aftermarket shocks on their SH's - myself included (I use KYB AGX's). Like it was already said, just get springs designed for the base model to go with them, and base model shocks will work perfect on the SH. If you don't, your ride height won't be as advertised.

As a new Prelude owner, that's some good info.

if i kept the SH springs and got the BASE shocks how bad would it look? and how much of a difference would it be from the front to the back?
thanks for the helpful info. I was getting extremely frustrated about this area of the car.

The SH front springs are about an inch longer than the base, and the SH shock's mounting perch is about an inch lower to compensate.
So a combination of SH springs & base shocks would raise the front end of the car by about an inch.

I had tanabe sustec pro II full coilovers on my 2000 prelude SH... they were awesome. Fully adjustable and very stiff. (could also adjust the damper to make them softer) But they are kinda pricey. I believe they retail for around $1500
