I suggest pulling the ATTS fuse for the winter. I've tried it both on and off for the past 4 winters, and the car is much more comfortable with it disabled. Basically, it doesn't do well on variable traction surfaces - so disabling it allows more predictable winter weather handling.

Yup, the ATTS is not made for snow.
On dry roads, the ATTS still suffers from some understeer if you go into a corner/curve too fast.
Imagine on ice/snow covered roads.

I doubt it. The only way you can burn out the ATTS is by slamming the car and riding around like that for a long time.
Or by abusing it w/ auto-xing, hard driving, scca...etc
And having different size wheels/tires in the front. (but who the hell in their right mind would do that?)
On ice/snow, you'd probably burn out the ABS instead.
IMHO, ATTS doesn't work too well in snow/ice. Honda didn't make ATTS for rally use.
But it did saved my *** a few times on dry roads.
