Safe Shifting
While at the track, i was talking to this guy who has a jdm h22 in an accord, he says he shift at 9 with stock internals. Is it possible? And is my USDM H22 able to handle this?
Thanks
Thanks
i take mine to 8 wenever i race....im not completely sure if it even makes power that high....need to check on that but im guessing it doesnt, but wenever i do shift at 8, i can feel it bounce the limiter as im shifting. a guy that lives around me also said he blew his motor cuz he took it to 9k but i didnt think that was possible unless he dropped into 2nd instead of 4th at like 100mph

He has a vafc, does it have a rev limiter feature on it? And i have shifted at 8 before, just thought 9 was alittle to far on a stock engine...

a 7400 shift imo is a perfect point, peak power
and you wont drop out of vtec.any higher and your running risks like floating the valves with
a stock train ive learned from experence!
bent valves is a no no,and bearings dont like it eather.

It's possible...but unwise...on stock internals, things would be heating up to a bad degree...Plus, unless I am mistaken, on stock internals 9000 rpms isn't going to make you much power for an h22

No, there is no option to remove rev limiter with a VAFC.
Yes, 9k is too high, you start to lost power WAY beofre that. Isn't a smart idea because the higher you get with RPM, the more likely it is that something will break.
Also take note that more then likely the stock tach is going to be off by a couple of hundread rpm, especially when it is reading at something that high.
