Replacement Radiator
So my radiator is leaking at the bottom tank around the drain plug. The plug is tightened up all the way so I suspect there is a hairline crack somewhere. I am looking into replacements. I don't want to go all out with a Koyo Racing radiator, but I don't want a plastic tanked regualr OEM replacement. Have also been thinking about the civic/del-sol half-rad.
Some options I have found:
- "Proliance" All-Aluminum OEM replacement with a single row 1.25" thick core (compared to stock 5/8" thick core). $136. Part #439506

- Civic/Del-Sol Half-Radiator. All-Aluminum 2" thick core. ~$100 shipped with fan from eBay.

Any input in regards to which would be better cooling wise would be great.

A quick search on ht turned up that someone who bought a Proliance radiator couldn't find a radiator cap that fit. He eventually found a dsm one that did, but the water temp was higher than it should've been. Buyer beware.
I just went ahead and ordered the Proliance full-sized aluminum radiator. It's twice as thick as the OEM 5/8" core and I can use my stock fans. And its nice as far as price.
I have a few different Prelude radiator caps that I can try out. At first when I bought my current radiator I was angry that my stock cap didn't fit but I found one that did. So I won't let a cap dismay me.
My current radiator is a CSF All-Metal Brass/Copper 5/8" thick core.

Radiator fit well and looks great. Welds look good. And most importantly it doesn't leak. It also feels like it weighs less than half of what my old radiator did.
Only issue is that I ordered a VTEC radiator so I would get a thicker core and my Si fans don't bolt up. So I need to get a couple electric fans for it in the next day or two.
I used 50/50 Distilled Water and Honda Coolant with one bottle of Redline Water Wetter.

My stock radiator used the F-Type style cap, so I assume it would work. Does your stock cap have the larger valve or the smaller nipple valve inside?
Here are some pics of the radiator before I installed it.
