12-12.5:1 would be the highest i would go on pump gas. you'll need to go to the local dyno and tune your car after installing it. you won't get any problems if you tune it correctly. type-s pistons are good for their price but i prefer something that bumps compression higher than just by 1

yeah my friend has 12.25:1 pistons in a bone stock gsr but i've been hearing that in an h22a4 it isn't safe to go above 11:5. i've also heard you have to sleeve your block to run above 12:1 pistons in an h22 but i think thats bs. i would like to run 12:1 pistons. what else would i need to run them safely on 93 octane.(daily driver)
I have every bolt on and a vafc and im ready for some internals.

I'm not going to say that running forged pistons on the stock block isn't a risk, because it is. But I will leave that up to you. I did it with some wiseco 8.8:1's and the car ran well. But it also did a little damage. I think that a properly clearanced stock block would be the way to go. And I love my JE's on a relatively cheap sleeving job.

gsr sleeves are steel, H22a sleeves are FRM that's why you have to sleeve.

I good option would be to get type S pistons with a thin headgasket to get about 11.5:1, and also some good aftermarket rods that support a full floating wrist pin, however you can slightly bore out your stock rods to fit a full floating wrist pin like the type s piston, and you could do some cryo treating or shot peening, but some new lightweight I-beam rods probably wouldnt run you too much money, gl

Well, I would like to know what type of sleeves would be good for the compression on a NA setup, i.e darton, golden eagle etc.

alright so 11.5:1 is prob the safest which is what i thought i just wanted to make sure. i know high comp pistons make a difference cuz my friends gsr dropped a sec off his 1/4 mile time just with 12.25:1 pistons and intake. no joke! thats why i wanted to get as high comp as possible without having problems. and i've heard bad things about all motor h22's but screw it im goin all motor vtec hits hard as **** and it's loud as hell just with my bolt-ons. thanks.
