Default Phantom Grip

Anybody have the Phantom Grip on their 5th Gen prelude? If so, how do you like them?

Anybody have any general comments about the Phantom Grip vs. Quaife vs. M2B4 JDM LSD tranny? Phantom Grip is about $250, Quaife is about $800, and M2B4 tranny is about $1000. I just can't justify spending $800-$1000 if the Phantom Grip will be just as effective. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

In no way is the Phantom grip as effective as the quaiffe or factory LSD. I have a Phantom grip myself and a factory LSD, between the 2 cars, the factory LSD is awesome. Sometimes the Phantom grip appears to work, but it is probably wishfull thinking. Also, both LSD differentials are stronger than the non LSD diff.

I used the search and no results came back. I just tried it again and same thing, however, I just realized that there was an "Archive" toggle button.

I'm not trying to be an a$$ so don't freak out.

I have no experience with either any of the options you lifted, hell I just spin 1 wheel everytime I come out of a corner right now

I will say this though:

It seems like everyone is quick to bash the phantom grip because of what they have heard . A lot of people on H-T are very quick to jump on a bandwagon of any kind, constantly reiterating a popular opinion.

However, there are a couple of reputable members on this board (JG Luder, XES) who ran the Phantom grip with some high-hp setups with no complaints (Don't take my word for it though, ask them). Are either one of them using the PG still? No.

The price makes the Phantom, very, very appealing. If you cannot afford anything else, try it! Who knows? Maybe you will prove some of them wrong!

I myself will be installing a Quaife along with a clutch/flywheel sometime this month or in Aug. Originally I wanted to see if I could somehow install an OEM diff. into my USDM tranny, but from what I have read that is not possible =/ I was considering a KAAZ, but I hear those things are noisy. I'm trying to keep this car girl-friendly, so that will not do at all

Anyways at the end of the day its up to you, if the phantom grip fits your need and budget, try it! Post your thoughts and results afterwords!

True, most here have not used it and are passing on stories. Kinda like the stories about certain lightweight crank pullies...

When people mention the low, low, price as being very attractive, it is, but to be fair it still takes $$$ to have it installed. My point is it makes the Quaife slightly less expensive appearing.

IMHO, I never "hear" anyone complain about the Quaife, only good things, but I do "hear" all sorts of bad things about the PG. Me suspects there's something to that.
