Is the o2 sensor for 4th gens the same as 5th gens?

No. OEM fit sensors are not the same.

i got a 93 si but it has a 97 sh motor, should i go for the 93 o2 sensor?

go with whatever kind of ecu you have....obd1=93 obd2=98? Or just replace it with the same kind that is currently in the downpipe and call it a day?

well if you have a obd2 motor with a od1 wiring harness than use the one for od1!
