OH NO!!!!
I entrusted a BUDDY to go about the rest of the assembly of my motor, so when I came back from my trip and found the swap IN THE CAR ready to go, it went straight to tune and to the road...I didn't inspect it..i trust his work as he's NEVER let me down before.
So..The BALANCE shaft seizes. Belt snaps and as you can guess things only get worse from there. I yank the motor, which is a JDM h22 Type S motor, and begin tearing it down only to fine that this BASTARD USED SILICONE WHERE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN USING GASKETS!!!!!!! IN MY FRIGGEN VTEC HEAD!! SILICONE EVERY ****ING WHERE!!!
So at this point i'm absolutely DREADING pulling the oil pan off..and when I DO..lo an behold!! MY MOTOR OIL IS MIXED THICKLY WITH MELTED SILICONE!!!!
Now BOTH balance shafts didn't seize but the one that didn't is BADLY scored and my question is..
Should I..
1) Get h22 Short Block and carry over the internals to it..
2) Get a balance shaft elimination kit?...
3) Get an H23 short block, keep the head and go for the G23?..
Which is the CHEAPEST route..

Cheapest? DIY B/S eliminator kit. There's a write-up on here; I think it can be done for like $40. Or if you want easy, buy the Kaizenspeed kit for $135. Either way you should strip the motor and see what other damage was done. Take a look at the valves and make sure they aren't bent and your compression is good through the head.

I took EVERYTHING apart..The Entire head is FINE, no damage to the valves, cams, rocker arms or anything. The Pistons are fine as well. The Water Pump, and Oil pump were LOST in the process and so they need to be replaced. There were no shavings or metal found anywhere. All in all everything else outside of what I mentioned is fine, and the car Dyno'd an impressive 220hp@The wheel despite having the bodily equivalent of MOLASSES pumping through it's veins, so i'm not eager to get rid of it.
I found a Kaizenspeed Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit on craigs list, never used for 25 bucks, so I already ordered it, and i'm going to get cracking on it soon as I get it.
Engine is closed deck AND has a Full Girdle on it, came like that STOCK..and i'm looking to BOOST in January so it's a prime candidate...
Ok so the Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit I was striving for was a fluke, it wasn't a Kaizenspeed joint at all..
And I went on the website and they want $125 for it plus shipping..not to bad, but i've heard of people getting them for as cheap as $82 bucks...so does ANYONE know where I can get a Kiazenspeed Balance Shaft Eliminator Kift for less then the Sites price?
