Default OBDI Conversion

I keep hearing about OBDII to OBDI conversiosn and had a few questions.

Is the conversion worth it? Are there any mods which should be done first? Will it matter if I'm going to get a V-AFC? What is needed to do the conversion?

I know that's a lot of questions, thanks for the help.

I would definetely suggest converting to an OBD I. It has less restrictions on it. If you were to do the wiring yourself, it would be a PAIN in the ***. Skunk2 makes an OBDII to OBDI conversion kit. If you goto their website http://www.skunk2.com and click on Electronics and then Conversion Harness you will see it there. Hope this helped you with the OBD conversion

You need:

Conversion Harness
OBDI ECU

You can redo the wiring yourself if you know what you're doing. You just need some OBDI plugs you can scam at a junk yard.

i would do the obdII workaround instead. If you want to go obd1 and are serious about performance, might as well just go with a complete EMS.
