Default O ring leak

Hey guys my distubtor o ring is leaking and the car is losing about a quart of oil for every 1 half hours I drive. Does the o ring leak that much oil or is it something else. I have searched up and down the motor and I cant find anything else. What are some common things that usally leak at 164000.

Just about anything and everything can leak. Your best bet is to degrease the WHOLE engine, replace that O-Ring and go from there.

So lossing an a quart of oil is common with an o ring leak? I have been trying to find out what has been eating up my oil for a long time hopefully this is it.

probally not, what you need to do, is what I said above. That will eliminate one problem right away, clean off the engine, and you will have very little problem noticing the leak.

i have the same dizzy o-ring leak, i leak a few drops per day. just lazy since its winterbreak, but im taking the car in for electrical repairs at a general repair shop and just having them do it. ill guess that its not supposed to lose that much though, when you check your oil is the car cooled down?

i mean it sounds stupid but it could just be oil working its way back to the bottom that you're taking as missing oil.

if the o-ring is bad enough that it split, it could easily leak that much. When my oil cooler o-ring went, my oil light came on, i refilled it to full, and within 4 miles the oil light was on again... took me 10 quarts to make it 10 miles home.
