Default my engine is knocking

although his had occured, and my engine is about to blow up, I have a warranty which covers a used engine to be installed....so all I have to do is hope that they give the ok to pay and put it in........just thought I'd let everyone know that I was ripped off for 4300 from a dealership that claims they cant do anything about it...........this is the worst day of my life, so far

my engine is very fuel efficient, because it doesn't run.

honestly, 118,000 miles is not that premature depending on how you treat it, if you treated it like an 80 year old woman would, then its premature, but seeing as you are 16, im going to guess you would try to take it into vtec 3 seconds after start up while its still cold, didnt always use 91+ octane, werent the best with oil changes and regular maint, odds are 50/50 the timing belt/tensioner has been changed, and who knows what else

of course these are generalizations based on your age, so if you dont fit it, dont be offended, but if the motor is failing as bad as you say, its pretty rare, im assuming its an h22 youre talking about, if you have a spun bearing in an h23 or its your tranny grinding then its pretty common...

no, I have an si with H23.........its not as common........I changed the oil every 3000 miles and Ibabied the car.....I used 93 octane only, nothing less.....I never tried to double clutch and I very good at stick shift, and I dont pound on it on a cold day, and theres no vtec............just b/c I'm 16 doesnt mean Iam willing to blow my life savings down the drain...I saved up the 4300 dollars to buy the car since I was 10 years old..........this is devastating to me and right now I am so depressed b/c this is the worst day of my life..........and I dont appreciate you using age as an excuse..........this car WAS my baby and my life, and now its gone, it blew up, and I have no transportation anywhere and I feel like my life is over........im gonna lose $5K because I dont have a car over the summer to work and save for college..........please, if you respond to my post, dont make me feel any worse than i already do, put yourself in my shoes and see how you would feel if this happened to you, good luck and I hope you never have to experience this

Your engine is probably going to keep on knocking until you open the door and let it come inside.

i doubt you ahve had the car for all of its 118k miles of life. its is not uncommon at all fro h23's to have rod knock, many people rev the **** out of them since its a dual cam and think it makes great power in teh very top end of the rev range....that and not regular enough oil changes can do it pretty easily.

it's a stretch, and probably a bit of a temporary fix if anything, given how bad a situation you seem to be making it sound like.... ?????
but have you ever heard of a petroleum (i think?) product called seafoam?
a ton of people on vwvortex have used it with good results to quiet their motors and increase performance/fuel economy.

Seafoam isn't going to fix a knocking engine, jeezus. It just cleans out the insides...

it lost a lot of power and the car almost died trying to start on a hill, it was that bad, the diagnosis showed that it needed a new engine b/c I bought it at 103K and my guess is the oil wasnt changed regularly, but I babied the car for the time I had it

dont feel so bad, i hydrolocked my engine and blew the **** out of the block with a snapped rod. i bet most of your engine parts would be reusable if you decide to rebuild it. best of luck.
