i have a 4th gen vtech prelude and my car will not going into reverse... i got a new clutch 10,000 miles ago. would could have caused this???? i'm so angry at the world right now..ne ideas??

 

i have yo struggle a little before it'll go into reverse, usually pumping the clutch a couple of times before it'll go........ urs doesnt go at all or u have to struggly? i also replaced my clutch about 5k miles ago....

I have a 5th gen that wouldn't go into reverse no matter what. I took it to a dealer and it was the fifth gear syncronizer. They fixed it under warranty, but it would've cost $850. Good luck.

 

if you push (gently) in to reverse then have your car roll a little does it engage?

IF you guys went/go to stoga, what years are you and what are your names? I probably see you driving around all the time. What colors are your cars and what mods do you have?

 

Mine is like that sometimes, when trying to get into 1st or reverse. I got to roll alittle to get it to engauge.

 

Has anyone tried to do 4th gear, then reverse? Reverse isn't syncroe'd, so sometimes its hard to get it to engage. The 4th-to-Reverse always works for me.

i brought my car up like twice up here.. its usualy back at home..since i have been having so many probelms.... well i can't shift at all, it won't go down to reverse at all.. i have tried sooo many differnt things... i'm soo pissed off, i dropped it off at a garage and they said my transmission dropped, i'm about to buy a new 1 from japan...sigh....
