Yeah, you will need to sleeve it. Those pistons wont work with FRM.
Only Mahle make pistons compatible with FRM.

you HAVE to resleeve with those Pistons. The rings will chew up your stock FRM sleeves like it was nothing. A few thousand miles and get ready to welcome a new engine.

The only forged pistons that can run with the stock FRM sleeves are the Mahle Gold series.

I think its funny how people these days will just throw down the money for the forged pistons without understanding the FRM cylinder issue. It's like this situation hasn't been covered over and over.

Beginners

Lemme guess, you're trying to make 270whp on a budget?

I also think its funny how people these days just reply with useless remarks and comments. Thought this forum was suppose to help people out. I'm not a Mr. Know It All like you.

It just doesn't make sense to me that you would invest money into parts without knowing whether they would work or not.

I don't mind if people don't know things. That's the purpose of a tech q&a forum. But when the information out there plainly states that you can't and shouldn't use forged pistons with the FRM cylinder engines, and you buy the parts anyway without putting in any time into research; then you're sort of open to comments and remarks.

I apologize for saying it was funny, because it's not. I pity you more than anything.

At least you didn't have them installed and then run the engine.

OP, you need to read a bit. I suggest searching some in the All Motor forum as well as this forum.

Your post is ridiculous because anyone who knew how to search wouldn't have bothered wasting space with a useless post. NEXT!
Spoon feeding you 10yr old info isn't going to happen here.
You're a grown up, learn to eat on your own.

I think this is the issue. "Just" 270whp n/a is not an easy feat. If this was turbo, that would be a different story, but he already said he bought high comp pistons, so I can only assume n/a here.

OP, 270whp will cost you money, period. 215whp can be done on a "budget" (~$1k+). I would guess most people are surprised that someone who is aiming so high is doing such little research. You should know EXACTLY why you chose each and every part in a build like that.

do this....since your goal is very possible i would sell your JE pistons for some mahle high comp pistons since they will work with the stock sleeves and that would save you the trouble of re-sleeving the block... your gonna need better rods, machine the crank, racing bearings...ect. and thats not just the beginning...best of luck
