Default lude totaled?

crashed my lude today after going down a street and gettin cut off by a caddy on the side street. tried to avoid rear ending the guy. i swerved and crashed into a telephone pole. car is pretty fucked. but still runs well. front plate broke off and cops picked it up along with my honda emblem. i was issued a citation for leavin the scene of an accident when i didnt even hit anyone. damages are pretty bad... looks totaled? i DONT have collision on my insurance so yea im screwed. oh yea. the cop put there was property damage when there was like a scuff on the pole, should i even bother reporting it to insurance?

Damn dude! Sry to here about that! I probably wouldnt report it to the insurance agency because your premium is probably going to skyrocket. I would just hope that santa brings you a new one or pays to get yours fixed. Remember tax returns are coming up soon.

Depends on what your defintion of totalled is?

Do you mean fixable and able to be street legal, or worth the money to fix it? Insurance generly determine the second choice if the repairs are less than 60% of the car KBB(I think it may be a little more) But aslong as you radiator is sitting in the same spot as it was before the accident then you should be able to to fix it up, but if it's moved back a couple inches you may have to reavaluate the situation.

Hope you can fix it i really like the black ones, Good Luck and be glad you don't have to replace to Telephone pole, I had a Friend that hit a telephone pole last year on Christmas Eve and had to pay for the repairs and the labor to send a crew out there on Christmas, Like $2500!!!!!!!!

should have gotten the caddy's plates....damn that sucks....

if the radiator support got messed up, i would say its gonna be a good bit of $$ to fix that thing all up....

well, I just fixed my 93 after an accident, and my damage was nothing as bad as that, and it was still over 3k to fix it, and that was with a buddy owning the body shop! I would estimate a regular shop over 6 grand in all, the whole radiator support and bumper assembly looks jacked, and painting all of that, new fenders, hood, bumper, all the bumper supports, probably got the rad too a bit, maybe new headlights (jdm was cheaper for me than 1 stock usdm). if you want pics of mine before and after I can email. And yeah the destruction of property can suck, its a way for a company to make easy money.

my car was very similar but a good bit worse..

When i was in an accident - i have pictuers in the picture thread........it only cost me $1500 to fix the entire front end. Including the radiator suppord - got an entirely new one. My damage looked way worse than that. I say fix it and keep it. As long as nothings wrong with the motor - its good.

Damn, that sux. However, you can rebuild it and make it a little nicer at the same time.

OEM replacement radiator: ~$115 shipped to you.
OEM bumper cover: ~$100 shipped to you off ebay
JDM headlights: ~$200-$250

Finding a hood shouldn't be too hard or that expensive. Maybe get a carbon fiber (not a fan of them though).

The biggest part of the repairs is getting the radiator support fixed/repaired. However, I don't think it should be tooooo expensive.

I'd hate to see another 4th Gen bite the dust.

Good luck!

Lucky that it is still drivable, to me it looks like its would be under 1k to fix without paint.

Looks fixable to me.

My lude got smashed in the front by a 16yr old kid and caused $2300 in damage.

NO big deal though, I can fix it myself for around $600 and pocket the change

no man!
that is a freaking humongous ripoff!
that is not an oem unit, thats an aftermarket piece.
first off, aftermarket are flimsier than oem, i've heard that if you try to jack a car up on an aftermarket rad support, it'll actually bend.

fitment may or may not be as good as oem.

not to mention oem is in the mid 200's new from hondaautomotiveparts.com

aftermarket should not cost you anymore than $100 before shipping.
personally i'm getting an aftermarket one for my car,
cuz thats wut the bodyshop gets, and it's cheap, from what i hear fitment shouldn't be an issue.

good luck.

from the looks of it i need,
hood, hood latch, front bumper cover, foam insert, reinforcement, driver side fender, headlights, vent things on 4th gens, radiator support, radiator. probably some more internal stuff. not gonna be a cheap fix, i dont have the money to fix it. nor is the car value that great. ill have to decide wat to do with it after i settle down with the court issues. chances are its gonna be parted out.
