Default Low idle?

Recently my idle is really low. I estimate its at around 500-600 rpm. Also when I step on the gas and let off the idle would fall until it almost stall before it picks up again. I check the IAC and even replaced it but that didn't help. I have no clue what is going on. I thought maybe you guys can help before Honda charges me an arm and an leg to fix this problem. BTW--This is for a 97 Prelude. Thanks.

why dont u just adjust the idle??...u can turn the screw on the throttle body with a flat head to raise it.

my 97 does it as well i thought the engine was about to take a **** on me, thankgod its normal. someone told me i needed to set the base line idle and that would correct that, ive got 76k and ive never had a valve adjustment.

i've got one that actually dies when the idle drops. it's got a jackson racing blower and a 8.5lb flywheel so i figure it's probably the same prob. that everyone else has but with the parasitic drag of the blower and the reduced inertia from the light flywheel it can't recover before it quits. i've tested everything & it all checks out. i even threw a new IAV at it and a new throttle body gasket with no results. also, you guys should know that you're supposed to unplug the IAV before you make adjustments to the idle screw, otherwise the computer just compensates. of course the ck. engine light needs to be reset when you're done. htat's what the book says, anyway.
