koni yellow help
I just installed some Koni yellows on my 5g on the lowest perch and now I rub sometimes when my wheel is turned?. HOw can I avoid this? Do I need some spacers or something?
Its only the front that rubs...
My mechanic said that Koni should have spacers availible that will raise the car a bit.
im on 215/45/17 as well and dont want to go doen to a 40 series.
as anyone had a similar problem?

i know about the perches but I tried explaining that to my mechanic and he had no clue what I was talking about. He never installed Konis before.
Is there a diagram or something that shows this cuz im sure a visual aid will help my mechanic.

tell him the shock fork is covering the perches. there's 1/4" of drop between the middle and lower perch and a 1/4" raise between the top and middle perch.
it's easier if you do it yourself.
in the end you'll have to compress the spring more to get it onto the shock if you use a higher perch, but it should keep the shock extended further once installed.

sounds like you can't then. What springs are you running?
The bottom spring perch can sit at 3 different levels. Sounds like you are at the lowest level. There are 3 "notches" in the shock body that the lower perch can fit into. If your mechanic can't figure it out, I would suggest taking it to a different mechanic.

If you really want to see some pictures do a search for "koni yellow" and I am sure somebody has a picture in a classified ad or something.
I really don't understand what you need pictures for.

You sound like you know what the perches are and where they are. If your mechanic cannot grasp this wild concept, get a new mechanic or do it yourself

not a pic of the shocks...someting liek a diagram outlining all the parts and the names. I know im on the lowest perch or else I wouldnt be rubbing. His reasoning is that shocks have no part of how your ride hight will sit...thats what the springs do.
dude you have 17's...so either get some coilovers so you can adjust the ride height or move to the highest perch on the shocks or do both. were the shocks like this when you bought the car?
Dude try here http://www.integra.orcon.net.nz/koni
