Default issue with 1999 base model

I had the same thing happen last summer and never resolved it... seems to happen only when its warm/hot outside.

From a stop or low rpm, when i give it some gas it feels like its bogging... itl backfire 1 or more times and then go back to driving normally....

i have no idea what is causing this.

i changed cap/plugs/wires/rotor last summer and it was still doing it
also changed a o2 sensor at the same time

any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Does it happen when the car is cold, warm or either?

Check/clean your IACV. You may also want to try cleaning the EGR ports, if you have a lot of miles on the engine.

Is it throwing a code? That might help narrow it down a lot...

FPR? maybe? I'd at least test it to rule it out.

Those compression numbers are pretty decent and I wouldn't expect that to be the problem. If it's only happening when the engine is warm, then you can pretty much narrow it down to things that are temperature controlled. I'm not 100% sure, but could include things like FITV, IACV and EGR to name a few. If you haven't actually cleaned the EGR ports, that would be something to try and is cheap.

No, it's a whole lot more involved than that. Here's what I was talking about:
