Installing A/C in the lude ----- NEED Advice
Im moving to hot *** arizona and im tring to figure out how can i put a/c in my car . I know its a hard task but i know someone did it. I looked underneath my dash and i see all the ports and brackets for the A/C. They have those little rubber gromets on there to cover the holes so i know it can be done. I have a parts prelude with a/c. so i have everything. I just need some advice and people that did it.
Did you take the A/C out?
I doubt you're going to get many answers because 4th gen preludes all came with a/c standard.

Ha I just did this. Background story. In 2004 I took the a/c out as I was racing the car is the SCCA. Drove the car with no a/c since then. Got sick of it (girls would complain...blah, blah, blah), and I got a dedicated race car. So I decided I would put it back in this Spring. Now I took out everything except the evaporator...compressor, condenser, lines and the dryer. Here's what I did.
*Went to a salvage yard got the following parts, compressor, condenser, lines, dryer, condenser fan. All to fit a 98 Prelude. Inspected them to make sure they were clean (very important).
*Then I got a compressor bracket and CLEAN evaporator of Ebay.
*Blew compressed air through the parts to get out any dust.
*oiled the o-rings on all the fittings.
*Installed all of the parts. New belt too.
*Took the car to Honda and had them oil the compressor(didn't have any oil), vaccum and charge the system. The only issue they had to work at was a weak electrical connection with the condenser fan wire.
**a/c is blowing cold now**
TIPS. Make sure ALL parts are clean. Especially the evaporator.
