Default Importing a Prelude

I'm thinking about importing a Prelude from Japan. I want all the Japanese spec parts. I was just wondering if there was a list of changes I can find for all the different years from 92 to the type S. Not sure if I want a 4th or 5th gen when I import it though. The 4th gen I think are better so far in the USDM but not sure for the JDM's. I heard 4th gene Vtec's there come with 4ws, which I think owns. By the way do you think that the Type S will pass emissions here in the US, if I were to change some of the things, like the kilo gauge to mph. I doubt it though.

who would want to import a prelude... get something like a civic r or integra r. not a prelude what is wrong with you people...in memory of adam ghazal and diego merino there cars are both f*cked

[EDIT BY JG:
Not only was this comment GAY, it was also retarded. Not the "I came out of the womb with downs syndrome" retarded... more like the "my father fucked his sister and she fucked her dad at the same time and that's why I only have 3 fingers on each hand" kind of retarded.

Please stay in your Hype R forum.]

uhm..... maybe he likes preludes better. ever thought about that? just because you like the R better doesn't mean everyone else does. i would take a prelude over any civic R any time.
anyway, to import a prelude or any car from japan is not hard. you can get it for a good price too. BUT, to get it legaly registered will cost you an arm and a leg.
you will have to go to the referee, so he can check the car out. it will have to pass all the US safety requirements, meaning you'll have to install airbags, re-inforcement bars, re-inforecements in doors, change all windows because japanese windows are not tempered, etc etc. plus, you gotta pay a lot of money to DMV, and some other stuff as well. i don't think it's worth it. just buy a US spec prelude, it's not all that different from the JDM, except rt hand drive and some other minor stuff like headlights, steering wheel, etc. that you can easily get here and convert it.
now, people say JDM cars are all banged up and stuff from the trip, but i would like to clear that up. the ones legally imported are not, they're are in whatever condition they were before they left japan. the ones that are imported as "parts" and hidden in the containers under a pile of other parts ARE banged up, duh.
what people do with those is this; they buy another US spec car, same thing, from a junk yard. they pay like $200-500 for it. they swap VIN numbers with the car they imported as "parts" and register the car as a regular salvaged USDM car, like they just fixed the one they got from junk yard. that way, no inspection is required. i know a few JDM cars that are registered like that.
if you really want a 4WS VTEC prelude, why don't you just get a 92-94 Si 4WS (nowadays you can find one for $5k) and do an H22 swap. or better yet turbocharge the Si's H23 motor.

it should also be noted that if you're caught swapping VIN numbers and what not, expect some jail time if caught. Don't do the crime unless you can do the time.
