I'm stumped...
For the past couple weeks the engine in my 88Si has been acting strange. After the car is fully warmed up, the car stumbles and has no throttle response. I have replaced the plugs, wires, coil (I have an MSD 6A and blaster 2 coil), cap/rotor, fuel filter, compression is good, crank/TDC sensors are within resistance specs, air/fuel gauge reads normal, and the spark plugs read normal.
I suspect it's the ignition module because of the occurance after the engine is hot, but has anyone ever had one go bad on a 3g? It's seems odd because it doesn't soak up as much heat because it's mounted on the shock tower. Any other things to check?
TIA,
Greg

check the ECU for codes. Other than that I would start going through all the sensors, probably starting with the temp sensors.
Did you notice anything funny on the inside of the cap? I had a civic and an accord whose distributor went out and both started to do weird things when the engine warmed up.

Yeah, I got an ignition output code a couple of weeks ago, but I cleared it and haven't gotten it again. TW sensor is good. Someone said to check for a dirty EGR valve. I guess I wouldn't get a code for a dirty valve because there wouldn't be a short.
Thanks,
