Almost any Prelude header in existance will put more power.

They're not terrible for the price though.

from race headers to megan? hmm thats a big jump

you might look into the rumored new dc with 2.5 in colloctor if you are on a budget

or if you want to go ballistic go rmf/hytech/mugen/

or the best smsp

you're looking for a new header (singular)

i'd go greddy if i was looking for a mid-market header.

megan isn't bad for $150. pretty much a DC copy w/ a 2.5" collector, if i'm not mistaken.

nah its got a 2" collector but the MR is the best for te money

do a 2.5 collector mod on it and it will be comprable to the greddy or better im sure

well if you have a preludeonline sign in i can show you, 2 ppl have dyno plots showing the gains are much higher than previous setups

one even ran back to back mugen v smsp, with the smsp winning by a good margin

and i just said it was the best for fun.......i dunno what your best is but i'm pretty sure smsp is one of the top headers available as of right now

mugen is crap, that has been proven over and over....

take a look at the rmf dynos vs the smsp in the b series header test....you may reconsider after that....

"Best" is a very subjective word. Some headers give you a wider powerband. Others give it to you all at the top. I prefer the latter.

SMSP cost the most, making it seem to not be the "best" for some people.

For the highest output, SMSP is the current leader in my eye. It's what some of the fastest prelude road racers are using, if that means anything.

Hytech, RMF, Prospeed, etc are all very close to the point that tuning and other modifications could make one seem more powerful than the other. Even the big header comparison only tell 1/2 the story without tuning.

A header comparison for the B series is not going to be relevant to the H series.

That's what I did.

When I bought the Lude it had a huge crack in the exhaust manifold, so I had to replace it with something cheap and nasty. I bought a set of headers off eBay, made by a company called ZR racing. They are CARB certified, use metalic Honda OEM circular gaskets, and came with an 02 sensor extension cable. They work great, and for $165.00, I'd take them over Megan headers any day. I don't plan to keep them, because when I swap in my H22, I'm going to need new headers anyway........the bolt pattern on the F22A exhaust flange doesn't match the H22 bolt pattern.

I installed Megan headers on my V6 Accord coupe, and ripped them off because they made a horrible resonance. I also installed Megan headers on a 97 4 banger accord so I could trade it in........they're just horribly made.

and they fade.and turn back to a raw metal look. well mine did..

but they did not make me any slower...nor faster..

a b series comparison has everything to do with h series due to the fact that these guys custom design the headers for each motor, and its the builder, not the header, that is competing....

the rmf h22 header is fairly new to come out, so it is obvious that a lot of road racing guys are running the smsp, but dont doubt the rmf....

megan 421 would be better than stock, you should get a jdm 421.

as he said above b series not h. An SMSP might be the best for one setup but not as good as RMF for another, or DTR for another.

Dammit I'm going to go crazy if I hear another person talk about putting " headers " ( plural ) on a motor with only one cylinder head.

he wasnt talking about you dumb dumb, look at the title of this thread "Im gettin some headers!" he was talking to that guy, well i agree with mgags, the RMF header is very comparable to the SMSP header and is cheaper, i've seen some dynos of the RMF header gaining 15-20 hp on basically a stock motor. RMF gets a from me. as for the poster, i used to have a megan headers, didnt make much more power at all, just a little little bit up top, it was to the point where i barely even noticed it. but if i were you i would go with RMF, hytech, or SMSP. just my .02 cents.
